Hoist Maintenance
Caretech maintenance of Patient Lifting Equipment consists of One Preventative Maintenance Visit
including LOLER Test, plus a Second visit for a Six monthly additional LOLER Test and inspection.
The one preventative maintenance visit, covers all basic servicing requirements of the Equipment as prescribed by the Manufacturers and complies with the requirements of the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) under the Thorough Examination requirement as applied to Lifting Equipment. Certification will be provided to comply with the requirements of the Legislation. The contract also includes a six monthly interim Inspection including the LOLER Test.
All Load Tests are carried out as required by the British Standard recommendations and use calibrated weights, ensuring that the hoist is evenly tested throughout its full travel. An integral part of the testing procedure is the full inspection of all slings in use and we expect these to be made available at the time of the visits. They are rigorously checked and labelled with an additional tag to acknowledge conformity.
Preventative Maintenance and Call Out Visits will take place Monday to Friday between 8.30 AM and 5.00 PM, unless special arrangements are made. Public Holidays and Call Outs within 24 hours or outside these times are excluded, but are covered by Caretech Emergency Services with duty Engineers on call 24 hour and 365 days per year.
Where a piece of equipment is un-repairable at the time of a visit, Caretech will endeavour, should the need require, to provide a suitable Loan Unit. In any such instance the Authority will be informed at the time of the visit, in case alternative arrangements may be required. As is normal practice, Authorised Contacts and Telephone numbers should accompany purchase orders.
Stair-lift Maintenance
The requirements for the maintenance of stairlifts do not come under the LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations)
1998 regulations. However, the risks involved - particularly in the event of a breakdown
- are just as great and possibly even more so as the client may well be alone and not able to summon help. It is therefore essential that regular maintenance by properly qualified engineers is carried out and that this is supported by a 24 hour 365 day emergency call out system, and this is exactly what Caretech offers.
Caretech carries out annual service and inspections which can be supplemented where the situation demands by six monthly or even quarterly inspections. Servicing is carried out only by factory trained engineers and in accordance with the manufacturers' detailed schedules. The work carried out is recorded on a 32 point inspection schedule covering everything from the track mountings to the condition of the upholstery.
For Health and Local Authorities we offer removal, refurbishment and
reinstallation contracts even where short term changes are required.
The purchase of new stairlifts can be arranged covering all leading makes as well as second hand and refurbished units.
